“We offer a great mix, there’s something for everyone” – Phoebe Jost.

Minta & Co stocks fashion, homewares and design items.

Behind the counter

Phoebe Jost and her business partner Anthony Wiegard opened the doors of their shop last month after noticing a gap in the market. They’re hoping to tap into the population growth that has come with increased development in Carnegie.

Phoebe has a background in fashion wholesaling and fine art. “I stocked a lot of artwork in shops and did a lot of commissions for people,” she says. “Opening a shop offers me creative freedom to do my own thing.”

What’s in store?

Phoebe describes Minta & Co as a “lifestyle concept store”.

“It’s a mix of fashion, homewares, art, design and body and soul,” she says. “It’s a bit of everything.” Items are selected by Phoebe, and are very much a reflection of her tastes.

Who’s buying?

The store has been open a only few weeks and so far Phoebe says she’s served everyone from “young mums, to teenage girls, to ladies in their 50s. And then you get the guys who come in … too.”
